Covid-19 Vaccinations: This position will require the successful candidate to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination.


The Legal Internis responsible for collaborating within the legal department to complete three primary projects: including expungement research, contract management and organization, and contract review and drafting. Scope of responsibility includes criminal justice research at the federal, state, and local level; contract review and organization; and policy governance review and organization to assist with the business meeting its goals. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented law student to join our team as a legal intern for at least ten (10) weeks of project-based assignments. The projects will require the candidate to conduct legal research and provide recommendations based on their findings.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be resilient in the face of ever-changing regulatory landscapes. A successful candidate will experience and enjoy a fast-paced, growing company, in a rapidly expanding industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Contract Management, Tracking, and Review
Reviewing and identifying language in contracts.
Recommending best practices for Contract Templates.
Identifying, notating, and organizing similarities among contracts with the same subject matter.
Organizing contracts in a Microsoft Sharepoint drive.
Policy and Governance Management and Tracking
Reviewing internal policies and procedures and recommending best practices.
Organizing and archiving policies that have been overridden.
Drafting and updating policies to align with state, local, and federal law and best industry practices.
Nationwide Legislative Analysis on Expungement/Criminal Justice Hurdles for Cannabis-Related Offenses
Developing a template grid of research and analysis on state-by-state and federal laws/regulations/processes.
Bill Tracking
Federal and state court case tracking

Must be a current law student at an accredited law school.
Ability to think critically, understand complex material, analyze problems and data, and develop and implement practical solutions.
Ability to learn new areas quickly withstrong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (SharePoint, Word, Excel) and legal research databases, strong preference to Westlaw.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
