Job description:
The Accounting Analyst is responsible to verify, allocate, post, and reconcile the organization’s complex accounting activities within the general ledger for the accurate and timely preparation and presentation of financial, regulatory, and other decision-oriented information to assist leadership at all levels in developing policies, strategic planning, and making informed business decisions. Oversee and assist with the preparation of financial statements and performance of account analysis and reconciliation. Coordinate with the Company’s external accountants on audit preparation. Performs a variety of professional accounting tasks and extensive variance analysis in the completion of month-end general ledger close processes, leadership reports, annual audits, and tax filings.
Essential Functions:
Assist with the accounting functions of financial reporting, balance sheet account reconciliations, sales reporting, and cash reconciliation and reporting.
Ensure financial statements are prepared timely and accurately in accordance with current US GAAP.
Ensure account analysis, reconciliation, and review is performed and documented thoroughly and timely.
Ensure the company’s sales & use tax filings are timely and accurate with prompt payment of amounts due.
Assist Director, Finance, in the preparation and analysis of monthly Profit and Loss (P&L), budgets, and interim forecasts which includes monitoring daily performance, analyzing operating results and making recommendations that will optimize facility profitability.
Improve processes and internal controls in all areas managed.
Coordinate/assist with all aspects of year-end external audit.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or related major field of study.
Very good working knowledge of US GAAP.
Proficient working with Sage Intacct and SAP.
Computer-literate, MS Office, especially Excel (Intermediate to Advanced skill level).
Significant experience in financial analysis.
Proven process improvement and automation experience.
Team player with very good communication, interpersonal, motivational, and leadership skills.
Detail-oriented, self-starter.
