Job Summary:
The Regional HR Generalist will have an oversight of the whole employee life cycle including, but not limited to; Orientation, Onboarding, Leave of Absences, Workers’ compensation, and similar HR tasks while also being cross trained in benefits, employee relations, and recruiting. This is an onsite full-time opportunity working out of our location based out of Michigan.
Responsibilities:
- Administer, explain, and enforce company policies and procedures and actively participate in policy, procedure, and SOP creation and updates
- Establish record-keeping for Workers Compensation incidents and reports
- Oversee training and safety inspections on personnel, materials, and equipment
- Train employees and managers to meet and enhance company safety
- Serve as a resource to and liaison between employees and management
- Coordinate and perform efficient, accurate, and effective daily HR tasks and projects
- Participate with training administration and assist with the continuous development of associates to ensure high customer and employee satisfaction and benefit to the Company’s bottom line
- New Hires and Orientation: Participate in new hire orientation and conduct onboarding interviews and packets to ensure the successful onboarding of new associates
- Perform routine time and attendance activities, partner with LOA team in administering FMLA and leaves of absence and ensure wage and hour data integrity
- Administer and coordinate all recognition and rewards programs, promote spot awards and recognition, and lead charity events
- Assist with investigations, discipline, and terminations as needed
- Ensure Termination/Resignation Packets have all necessary documents based on State Requirements
- Administration: Perform and assist with administrative activities as needed
- Keep up-to-date on industry trends and employment laws
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Create, share, and implement ideas for continuous improvement and cost savings
- Be a team player and ensure all tasks are completed accurately and in timely manner
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field preferred
- SHRM and/or HRCI certification desired
- 3+ years of broad-based HR experience with strong knowledge in human resource field
- Experience in a multi-state or multi-location environment
- General business acumen and understanding of balancing the needs of associates with the needs of the company
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and other HR-related software and systems
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
- Excellent organization and time management skills with strong ability to prioritize and multi-task across competing demands
- Ability to shift priorities quickly without losing attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds
- Read, analyze and interpret complex procedures or regulations and write correspondence
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communications skills
- Recommends solutions to common problems with outside of the box thinking
- A customer-focused (internal and external) mindset, with the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Maintain professional image as a representative of the company
- Ability to travel occasionally to other locations (valid driver’s license)
