New Horizons assists adults with disabling mental illnesses as well as adults with co-occurring substance use disorders by offering an array of services including Community Support, Healthcare Home, Medication Services, Crisis Intervention & Resolution, Counseling Services, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, and Residential Services.  New Horizons serves a diverse body of people. Position Overview:

New Horizons is looking for a part-time or full-time Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist in our Jefferson City, MO site.  Duties include working with adults with behavioral health illnesses, leading educational, recreational, and vocational activities at the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Center (day program) and driving a passenger van to bring consumers to and from the center and on activities in the community.    

 

If filled full-time, the hours would Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm with occasional evenings for community activities.  Full benefits including medical insurance, paid holidays, paid sick & vacation leave, and a 403(b)-retirement plan.

Qualifications:

This position requires a bachelor’s degree or a high school diploma with at least three years’ experience providing community mental health services. Experience with facilitating groups is desirable.  The applicant should be a compassionate, positive person with a clean driving record and the ability to obtain a chauffer’s license (Class E license).
