Construction Project Accountant
The Project Accountant's primary responsibility is to support the project team regarding contract modifications, compliance, payments, reports, and any other duties related to the project. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent communication, time-management, and problem-solving abilities who thrives in fast-paced environments.
Required Skills
Ability to maintain accounting functionality/organized system
Maintain and Manage Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable per project daily
Collection, Analyze, Organize, and Prepare of monthly draw submission to bank by closely working with our Project Executives and Project Managers on current projects for submission to Architect
Data Entry of all Accounts Payable per project assignment
Credit application manage for files per project
Review accuracy of subcontractor and vendor billings and all appropriate paperwork (lien waivers, certification, etc)
Maintained signed Change Orders and Sub signed Change Orders for System and billing
Maintaining COI’s from subcontractors
Expense recording, job cost tracking and data entry
Project work including proofreading, copying and binding presentations/client deliverables
Draft, edit and distribute correspondence
Assist managers or other staff with their daily functions to ensure department goals are achieved and staff is notified of important information
Familiarity with Construction and Development Industry Standard Cost Codes/Job Costing
Sage, Timberline, Procore and Timber Scan software experience preferred
Proficiency in job costing based on construction industry standard cost codes
Ability to setup AIA formatted pay applications within the accounting system
Experience facing with vendors
Attention to detail/accuracy, quick learner and internally motivated
Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information and convey concepts and ideas
Ability to set priorities, organize work and work in high production environment while responding quickly and effectively under pressure, changing priorities and tight timelines/deadlines
Team player who can operate effectively within a matrix management environment
A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in construction accounting
Desired Skills
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or higher with an Accounting focus
