The Packaging Managing is responsible for managing and reporting on the company’s packaging processes, and ensuring compliance for all departments while effectively managing the activities of the Packaging team.
In this role you will...
• Directly supervise the Packaging Supervisors, Packaging Leads and Inventory & Packaging Technicians
Collaborate with Senior Leadership and Department Heads on how products will be packaged.
• Manage and collaborate on production schedule with Inventory Manager; communicate schedule and prioritization to technicians ensuring sticker production aligns.
• Manage and maintain inventory levels of cannabis, and packaging supplies/ materials for facility.
• Supervises production floor activities and ensures organization and accuracy of production batches; coach Packaging Supervisor to ensure KPI’s and Quality standards are met.
• Collect data from production leads; maintain and audit electronic database and train Supervisors & leads on input & upkeep.
• Ensure all packages are labeled and identified correctly; implement corrective actions to resolve discrepancies.
• Manage and train team members on weighing and recording the of all product and input data into METRC; pass all product to the inventory department.
• Manage and train team members on final tag creation for product and record final weights in METRC; convert product in METRC to ensure accuracy prior to product departure.
• Manage converting products from the Medical licenses to the Adult- Use licenses; manage any other internal transfers of product.
• Manage and check on work progress of Supervisors and Leads to ensure accuracy and efficiency; collaborate with leadership to develop & set KPI’s for department.
• Responsible for managing employee work schedules and ensuring department is staffed appropriately including approving timecards & approving time off requests.
• Maintain high employee morale and positive relationships, and coach team members to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the company values, policies, and other standards of conduct.
• Motivate staff to meet set performance targets and ensure proper training and development of employees.
• Ensure accurate count of all necessary tools and packaging supplies are on hand or being ordered.
• Develop and update packaging SOP’s, and ensure processes are in line with state and local compliance.
• Work closely with department heads to discuss packaging needs, quality and schedule of deliveries.
• Maintain high level of cleanliness of all packaging equipment, production areas and ensure sanitation practices concerning the handling of products.
• Directly communicate with governing bodies and METRC team on interpretations of regulations; resolve any discrepancies and issues.
• Maintain compliance with local and state regulations, company policies and SOPs for packaging of product.
Skills and experience you have...
• 3+ years working in a packaging or inventory related role or in a production environment.
• Ability to use and manage various industry related software’s; experience using METRC preferred.
• Display good judgment in the face of changing priorities with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks, strong decision-making capabilities.
• Working knowledge of safety and security requirements; willingness to learn state and local laws pertaining to medical and recreational cannabis
• High attention to detail, and experience inputting and reporting on high volumes of data.
• Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
• Ability to communicate clearly and accurately with regulating bodies.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationship with internal and external contacts.
• Excellent organization skills, ability to develop and implement operational best practices.
• Ability to communicate clearly and accurately with regulating bodies.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check.
• Must be able to obtain & maintain required state licenses based on work location. Must obtain AGENT ID
