Job Description

Agent in Charge, Lakemoor, Illinois 

Position Objective:

The Lead Budtenders are the departmental co-managers with regard to the provision of cannabis for the business. These individuals will work together to create and implement best practices and standard operations that will maximize the patient experience, quality, safety, and compliance whilst minimizing inputs and costs. These individuals will provide daily leadership and direction on how to meet company standards and achieve sales goals and will regularly communicate progress to the General Manager. These individuals will manage the Dispensary with a large amount of inventory and cash and will supervise all patient education and point-of-sale activities for the facility. Their primary function is to facilitate the operations of the Dispensary.

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Cannabis Provisioning experience as a manager.
  • Minimum of 3 years of personnel management experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of inventory management experience using industry-specific software.
  • Minimum of 3 years of point of sale and cash handling experience.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be able to pass a background check with no pending charges or convictions within the past 10 years for a controlled substance-related felony.
  • Must not be registered as a primary caregiver or must withdraw registration as a registered primary caregiver prior to accepting an official Offer of Employment.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.
  • Must complete State of Illinois fingerprinting and attestation forms as part of the mandatory State Badging procedure. This is required for all workers in our cannabis dispensary to ensure compliance with state regulations.
  • There is a $65 fingerprinting fee and a $100 badging fee required upfront, which are the responsibility of the applicant. These fees will be reimbursed by NOBO Illinois via a standard paycheck after 90 days of employment.

Qualifications:

  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the cannabis industry and the associated federal, state, and local municipal laws and regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of customer service, patient education, point of sale, and sanitation principles.
  • Strong counting, tracking, and inventory management skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, friendly environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work with a diverse team.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and be a team player.
  • Qualified applicants have an aptitude for comprehending compliance and the ability to adhere to a regulatory framework by creating, monitoring, and updating internal procedures as needed.
  • Must follow all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in accordance with the company's mission, vision, goals, and objectives.

Duties and Expectations:

  • Stay current and adhere to all relevant federal, State, and municipal regulations.
  • Encourage and maintain an environment of high integrity to optimize the patient experience, efficiency, and compliance.
  •  Manage all provisioning center duties and employees.
  • Communicate resource and staffing needs to the General Manager and Assistant General Managers as needed.
  • Create/implement/maintain standard provisioning and point of sale best practices and compliant/effective standard operating procedures.
  • Responsible for provisioning activities; including but not limited to inventory management, quality assurance, facility sanitation, security, inventory procurement, patient check-in, patient retention, point of sales transactions, financial reporting, and facility maintenance.
  • Develop and implement operational workflow and standard operating procedures for all provisioning positions, monitor effectiveness, and update as needed.
  • Must maintain a culture of professionalism at all times.
  • Maintain excellent customer service while striving to enhance efficiency and compliance within all patient interactions.
  • Project and communicate sales over time and assist the General Manager in identifying strategies to maximize available resources.
  • Identify and develop safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Monitor product sales to determine appropriate product lines to meet customer’s needs.
  • Develop and communicate environmentally sustainable strategies to the General Manager and owners.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of State, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA,) and other regulations.
  • Manage and maintain provisioning center inventory management documentation, specifically including that related to quarantined product, point of sales transactions, and waste management.
  • Hire, train, facilitate employee disciplinary action, and terminate employment as needed.
  • Must maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of facility security and sanitation standards.
  • Oversee the reporting of required inventory management data in Metrc.
  • Effectively manage and maintain relevant facility records according to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Foster a positive and communicative work environment.
  • Encourage and assist staff with obtaining continuing education.
  • Assist the Assistant General Manager (Training)  with the maintenance of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA,) State and other Compliance Strategies and required documentation.
  • Assist with regular OSHA and State compliance audits as needed.
  • Facilitate training for Dispensary staff when necessary.
  • Obtain continuing education to identify innovative techniques and strategies for optimal efficiency.
  • Review, maintain, and update training and Standard Operating Procedures as needed.
  • Assist with employee inquiries regarding provisioning center operations and best practices.
  • Communicate staffing needs to the General Manager and HR Administrator as needed.
  • Assist the General Manager in creating/maintaining facility policies and monitoring/upholding standards.
  • Assist the General Manager in managing supply and inventory levels.
  • Encourage and support open communication with employees to ensure a fair and friendly environment.
  • Must adhere to the Company’s stated Equality and Diversity and Drug-Free Workplace policies.
  • Monitor Profit and Loss (P&L) reports and evaluate performance against established departmental expectations including, but not limited to sales and customer service goals.
  • Follow the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in accordance with the company's mission, vision, goals, and objectives.
  • Should communicate with AGM or GM, to  implement company Crisis Response Procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands 

The AIC regularly works evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of our facility. Successful performance of this role requires that the incumbent is physically able to move freely between different parts of the store, lift up to 50 pounds and spend several hours a day viewing a computer screen. This position is frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.
