Budtender

Requirements:

• Must be 21 and over with a valid driver's license.
• Must be a Matawan resident.
• High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
• Willingness to obtain handlers license (4-hour course - license stays with the dispensary).
• Basic computer and information technology skills.
• Ability to stand for up to 7 hours and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Must be eligible to obtain any necessary state and industry-specific worker's permit(s).

Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:

   • Greet customers upon arrival and perform initial check-in by checking required IDs.
   • Assist new customers with questions and state-required forms; update customer information in the point-of-sale (POS) system.

2. Education and Assistance:

   • Educate customers on cannabis properties and selection of proper genetics according to their desired effect or relief for patients' ailments.
   • Handle online orders efficiently; greet and checkout curbside customers while ensuring compliance with state regulations.

3. Product Knowledge:

   • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and stay informed on current cannabis trends.
   • Assist with the intake of product, conduct inventory counts, and perform additional audits regularly.

4. Compliance and Security:

   • Ensure compliance with local and state regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
   • Follow company cash handling policies and perform daily cash management responsibilities and compliance reporting.
   • Adhere to security protocols, including the handling of customer IDs and maintaining a secure environment.

5. Team Collaboration:

   • Collaborate with the security team to ensure a safe and controlled environment.
   • Work with the packer in a separate secure room to fulfill customer orders without direct contact with cannabis products.

Qualifications:

• Prior customer service experience in a hospitality, pharmacy, customer services, or retail environment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Basic understanding of the medical benefits of specific cannabis products.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
